Ford Escort XR3i

This car is to show case JD Valeting

A blast from the past
Today I picked up a E reg xr3i cabriolet to show case JD Valeting, this car has had an engine rebuild, gearbox rebuild, respray and new roof in the last 5 years. It's a 31 year old ford classic car, which I will be doing full detailing on over the next few months. Due to my work load this will only be done when I get any free time as my many customers come first!
I will be focusing on the following areas
1, Inside of convertible
2, Engine bay
3, Paint work
My aim is to show my customers old and new what I can offer them with their classic cars. You can follow my progress on my website www.jdvaleting.co.uk and Facebook

Start date: July 2019

I have been looking for a long time for the right car to use to show case my business, I believe this is the one! I picked this car up from Leicester and drove it 150 miles to Southampton then caught the Red Funnel to the Isle of Wight.

2 Days Later!

I had a customer cancel an appointment this morning which gave me the time to wash and wax the new addition!  I'm sure you will agree the pictures and short video speaks for itself.
Now middle of August
So I will be taking my xr3i convertible to the classic car show on the 14th and 15th of September, but before I go here is my list of Job's to be done,
1) boot lock replacment as will not lock.
2) power aerial to replace pull up one.
3) side trims to be cleaned and fitted.
4) driver's wing mirror glass replaced.
5) bottom of seat's rubbed down and sprayed black.
6) carpet in car and boot to be shampooed.
7) engine bay to be cleaned and dressed.
8) remove scratches from the paintwork.

1) Boot lock was broken when I brought the car, so it was removed and replaced with a new one

4) Drivers wing mirror replacement.

5) Red strips around the car

The day before the classic car show!

So after all my hard work to fit the strips down the side of the car on Friday afternoon, they did not stick which I have now found out it's due to a aluminium strip being bent when they were taken of when by the previous owner. so I removed them, but one on the back quarter took some paint off.

The Classic Car Show 2019

I was back out Saturday morning at 6am re-fitting the side strips and at the show for 9:30am, they managed to stay on for the show with a little help from me.

November 2019
So after the a lot of looking for replacement stripes on the internet with no luck, I have had made the stripes out of vinyl.

to be continued.........
